The Clarion incorporates a dual-lens optical system that has the ability to mechanically alternate between a 25mm lens or a 50mm lens. This feature alters the base magnification and field of view with no degradation of the image resolution.

With the Clarion 384, Night Hunters can now use the benefits of a 25mm lens with a base magnification of 2x and a wider FOV (10.5° × 7.9° or 53 ft @ 100 yards) then quickly switch to a 50mm lens with a base magnification of 4.5x and a narrower FOV (5.3° × 4.0° or 27 ft @ 100 yards). This design is also paired with the most sensitive thermal sensor temperature rating in its class, coming it at a mind-bending sub-20 milikelvin.
